BIOGRAPHY
My love affair with art started at a young age, drawing cartoons and creating my own characters. Recognizing my interest in art, I was referred to a children’s free art class conducted by established artists in the Philippines, notably Fernando Sena and Elmer Borlongan. Attending several summer art classes introduced me to different media, techniques and styles. I grew fond of oil pastel and graphite. Growing up in the Philippines, I find inspiration in our culture, painting still life, landscapes, spiritual icons, and daily activities in the countryside. This paved the way to many art awards. After finishing Industrial Design in the Philippines and Germany, my art took a back seat due to my work and travel. I was able to hone my skills in digital techniques making technical drawings, illustrations, patterns, and 3D modeling that were used in products specifically home and seasonal décor, and packaging. My product designs were well received in the international market, catering to major US, European, and Asian importers and retailers. Moving to the US, I started exploring art again. I describe my work as vibrant, stylized, and always conveying a positive message.
